Day 1: La Guingueta to Bordas de Nibros
 
Height gain: 5,165 feet
Height loss: 3,339 feet
 
Day one’s a toughy – a straight, steep haul up the equivalent of Ben Nevis, followed by a steep descent that’ll have you thanking the Good Lord that you remembered your walking poles.  We finish the day camping at nearly 5,000 feet.
